Color Walk

We took a little color walk around the playground and neighborhood and explored our day to day world through color screens!

I made these color screens a few years ago using cellophane, hot glue, and 5x7 picture frames from the dollar store. I used frames so that we’d have sturdy screens for multiple uses (And it worked! They’ve served many tiny hands on many color walks!) but this activity can be done more simply with just cellophane. I cut out 6x8 inch cellophane sheets and hot glued them to the backside of the frames. I used the primary colors (red/yellow/blue) to create the secondary colors (orange/green/purple) by overlaying the sheets as shown in the pictures below.
