Use hot glue to make heart shapes/designs on 2 inch-ish cardboard squares. Be generous with the hot glue, the more raised the shape is, the more defined the lines will be as they show up on the paper. Once the glue has dried, place the cardboard squares under the paper. Take a crayon and rub it sideways on the paper, over the hearts, and watch hearts appear!

My classes did this activity for the letter H page of their alphabet journals. I prep out journal activities over the summer so they are ready to go each week of the school year. Sometimes colleagues ask me how I organize my supplies. I wish I had a really legit system to share, but uh, truthfully? I use Ziploc bags. I’m so basic.
